This is the famous Wide Brim Hat.Asylum Down was the first to import these hats beginning in the early 1970's. They are the best sun hats and last for years. They each have a design around the brim.

We call these hats the Burkina Faso Hat but they are worn in several sub-Saharan African countries. They are a very traditional design and are hand woven and then covered with leather. The leather is then Color decorated with painting or colored stitching. Because of their conical shape one size fits all and they all have chin straps.
